As Principal Developer my time was split between hands on development and leading the R&D Team. From a hands on perspective I led several technical changes and improvements:- Championed Trunk Based Development and Feature flags (using LaunchDarkly) - Championed high quality code, covered by unit tests and a consistent peer review / pull request process- Accelerated our use of Microservices, including templating applications and CI/CD processes and promoting the need for isolated databases- Introduced Micro Frontends / Microsites using the BFF (backend for frontend) pattern- Introduced the Fitness Functions in to the team that put automated processes in place to enforce consistent practices in the team (Unit test code coverage, pull request templates, StyleCop, SAST/SCA Security scans, naming conventions)- Championed "Clean Code" and SOLID principlesI also led several strategic initiatives / cultural changes including:- Transforming to an Agile culture through internal and external talks and demonstrating good practice- Rethinking how value is measured and reported on through analytics, hypotheses and outcomes over output- Leading our move into AWS through a company wide training program- Shaping our DevOps culture through shifting left on testing, security and automation and bringing cross functional teams together

As a senior developer I had the opportunity to work on our leading software solution for financial advisors "SolutionBuilder".Written initially in AngularJS 1.1 I helped improve the structure and architecture of the application. I introduced TypeScript, designed coding standards based on the John Papa AngularJS style guide, oversaw change when AngularJS introduced components in 1.5 and shaped better Jasmine unit tests.I also worked on the backend WebAPI, written in .NET Framework, helping to transform the server side code to follow better Clean Code and SOLID principles

AngularJS, TypeScript, ASP.NET SPA, Web API, Entity Framework, WCF, Agatha, Castle Windsor, BootstrapI returned to SAS Global Communications to join a team of 3 developers working on a web based application being developed to streamline the internal business processes. The application is an ASP.NET SPA using AngularJS, Web API and WCF.As well as developing new functionality I have also been responsible for migrating Javascript code to TypeScript and making significant performance enhancements to ensure that the application is scalable and futureproof.

I joined Triggersoft in July 2012 to work as part of a team developing a new "Task Management" desktop application for a company called SAS Global Communications. In 2013 Triggersoft was taken over by SAS Global Communications.From June 2013 - July 2014 I was sub contracted as a Web Developer to G4S Investigation Solutions (UK) Ltd (see details below).

AngularJS, TypeScript, Jasmine, ASP.Net Web Api, Entity Framework, WCF, Castle Windsor, NUnit, MoqI was initially contracted for 3 months to develop a new "Intelligence Portal" to help to identity fraudulent insurance claims. The website was built using MVC 5, AngularJS and Web API. Data extracted from various internal databases was used to find matches based on name, address and contact information and was presented using a traffic light system (red, amber, green) to help to create new business leads.The contract was extended a number of times to continue to work as part of the web development team in the following areas:* Migrate ASP.NET Web Forms application to use AngularJS to improve performance and user experience* Integrate with SAP through the export/import of invoice data* Continue to add new functionality to the "Intelligence Portal"With the company appointing a number of permanent developers my role also extended in to mentoring and training new members of the team, particularly in the use of AngularJS and TypeScript.

This helped to streamline their processes and cut down on unnecessary paperwork.Generic "map" plugin using OpenStreetMap and PostcodeAnywhere, used to locate customer sites.
