Started my journey after college as a HVAC/R tech in the commercial and industrial industry through out Maine. Eventually accepted a job at the local hospital as the HVAC/R tech. My technical background and trouble shooting skills were noticed and I was handed the lead of being the service/repair tech for the pneumatic tube system as well as the automatic folders in laundry. Other rolesnI acquired but not limited to were commercial kitchen equipment, med air compressor, central vaccum pump for hospital, and minor construction projects. Minor metal fabrication, and equipment operator (forklift, loader, tractor). Often assisted in repairs of snow removal equipment. 6 years later, I was hired on in the Clinical Engineering department. I chose this career path to elevate my skills even further as a technician. Soon learned that repairing equipment was just scratching the surface of what this field had to offer. I work in a rural hospital where we have a large variety of equipment, but not enough to specialize in one specific department. I'm lucky enough to be able to work on equipment in multiple departments. I successfully passed the training courses in BBraun dialysis machines, draeger fabius, Philips V60's, Steris washer and sterilizer, Medivator Advantage Plus, CLRT exam, and just recently the CBET exam. My goal is to eventually sit for the CHTM exam. I'm the senior/lead tech in the shop. I stride for excellent customer service, patient safety, and a fun hard working atmosphere.
