Noteworthy achievements from this role include actively participating in the planning and execution of an extensive 5-month shipyard period, inclusive of a 10-year survey, gaining invaluable shipyard experience in the process. Other duties involved sole watch responsibilities when necessary, executing planned maintenance via the IDEA Yacht portal, spares ordering, tracking and organisation, overseeing and planning daily engine room operations, and addressing any engineering tasks as required by guests or other departments. I also maintained all deck machinery, tenders, toys, and interior tasks on board.

These experiences allowed me to expand my expertise as an engineer and embrace greater responsibilities, further enhancing my capabilities as a Marine Engineer.

Operating within a large engineering team aboard this renowned yacht, I utilised the opportunity to learn from the wealth of knowledge present in this diverse engineering team.In my capacity, I assumed responsibility for a sole watch, overseeing planned maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of main and auxiliary machinery. Additionally, I managed the upkeep of systems such as swimming pools and spas. Moreover, I actively supported senior officers in attending to guest-related tasks whenever necessary, contributing to the seamless functioning of onboard operations amidst unprecedented circumstances.

Upon my return to the company where I previously served as an engineer, I was entrusted with spearheading projects and leading teams to fulfill demanding objectives and stringent deadlines for clients throughout the United Kingdom. In this capacity, I assumed responsibility for executing all aspects of our ongoing projects, overseeing team dynamics, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality outcomes that met or exceeded our client’s expectations. This role included making use of management of resources, effective communication, and strategic problem-solving to navigate the challenges that come with delivering exceptional results within dynamic and high-pressure environments.

North Sea & Mediterranean

In my capacity as a Second Engineer, working with the Chief Engineer, I assumed primary responsibility for overseeing planned maintenance activities and general watchkeeping duties. Utilizing the IDEA Yacht portal, I effectively managed maintenance schedules and operational tasks on board. This yacht was equipped with MTU main engines and Northern Lights generators.I was involved in a voyage from Stockholm to Tarragona, culminating in a shipyard period. Throughout this journey, I coordinated with the team on board to ensure seamless operation and maintenance of all onboard systems.

North Sea, Scotland

Following my enrollment at the City of Glasgow Nautical College for a three-year program, I was sponsored by Vroon Offshore Services, where I served aboard Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels (ERRVs) operating in the North Sea. During this time, I acquired invaluable hands-on experience working with CAT and MTU engines, as well as Diesel/Electric propulsion systems.Upon the completion of my education, I graduated with a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Marine Engineering. Subsequently, I successfully completed my oral examination, attaining an Engineer Officer of the Watch (EOOW) Certificate of Competency (Class III/1 Unlimited).

Immediately following the completion of my high school education, I assumed the role of a labourer at Inglis Cooling Services. Through dedication and a demonstration of my quick learning, I progressed steadily within the company. Within a span of two years, I successfully attained F-Gas certification and transitioned into the role of an Installation Engineer, assuming responsibility for mentoring and training apprentices. Throughout my time here, I gained extensive experience working on a diverse range of projects, ranging from simple single split systems to complex installations in multi-level office buildings and financial institutions, involving VRV/VRF systems.
