With a varied five-year career in the yachting industry, serving in the capacity of Third Engineer, Second Engineer and Chief Engineer on board yachts spanning 30-100 meters, both privately owned and charter, I bring a wealth of experience in marine engineering. Prior to this, I spent nine years in the HVAC sector, progressing from Installation Engineer to roles of Project Manager and Project Estimator. My commercial grounding stems from a cadetship with Vroon Offshore Services, specializing in diesel/electric ERRVs and culminating in an Unlimited CoC qualification in 2018. Throughout my career, I have honed my expertise in operations management, marine propulsion, air conditioning & refrigeration, chiller systems, AVIT, inventory & stock control, and tender maintenance, among other transferable skills acquired across both maritime and engineering domains.I have amassed valuable expertise working with engines such as MTU (4000 & 2000 series), Caterpillar (3508, 3512 & 3516, C4, C7, C9 & C18), Volvo Penta, John Deere and Northern Lights. My additional responsibilities have included overseeing, maintaining, and repairing multiple auxiliary systems including swimming pool & spa systems, sewage systems, stabilisers and fresh water systems, among many others. Additionally, I possess vast guest-facing and hotel engineer experience.Noteworthy achievements from my roles include actively participating in the planning and execution of multiple extensive shipyard periods, inclusive of 2x 10-year surveys, one 5-year survey, multiple annual surveys, 2x dry docking and re-floating experiences, 2x charter seasons and multiple Atlantic and South Pacific crossings. Other duties have involved sole watch responsibilities, executing planned maintenance, spares ordering, tracking and organisation, overseeing and planning daily engine room operations, and addressing any engineering tasks as required by guests or other departments.
