Some 18 years ago I opted to switch from my career as a Regulatory Compliance Consultant within financial services to take on a new challenge in the form of starting a bicycle business, Stirling Cycle Repairs Limited (trading as Stirling Cycles). I grew the company, which initially operated out of my domestic garage and focussed solely on bicycle repairs, into an established and respected retailer of high value, premium bicycles, situated in a prominent high street location, with a team of staff.After 17 years leading the company, I decided I wanted to start a new chapter. In order to give myself the space and flexibility to explore new opportunities, I sold the company as a profitable going concern in June 2023.After enjoying some rest and reflection time, I embarked on a new career path as a Business Adviser with Business Gateway. After one year in that position, I secured promotion to Senior Business Adviser. In this role I'm using the skills and experience I have developed to support other businesses in fulfilling their potential and achieving their goals.
