My new and exciting mission is to evaluate and upgrade ORION Americas packaging, from where it currently is (the valley) to world class quality levels (mountain top) within a relatively short time period. I will be working closely with our four Plants, a 3rd Party Warehouse, colleagues in EMEA, APAC and an unspecified amount of suppliers of various packaging. This is perhaps the biggest challenge of my career, as there is so much to accomplish. This is where all of my previous years and experience will force multiply into this new position. I am excited to see how it all turns out. Stay tuned.

Primary Role: to monitor and adjust production scheduling activities for our Belpre, OH carbon facility (ORION's highest quality product lines in NAFTA), while moving and balancing parallel stock transfers of Belpre produced materials to the public warehouse we partner with. Manage approximately 295 STO's (stock transfer orders) at any given time to maintain ATP integrity. Secondary Role: to place Import order from our overseas ORION facilities, i.e. EMEA and APAC regions (ORION's highest quality products in these regions), while balancing Inventories through lengthy overseas lead-times, all the while maintaining harmony with Sales-Marketing demand. Tertiary Role: supporting role as backup scheduler to our Borger, TX, Orange TX and New Iberia, LA facilities. All these roles and activities include measuring capacity and striving to balance forecasts to open orders vs available inventory utilizing SAP R3 PP and multiple reports.

Orange Tx Plant

Directed Production Activities for 3 yrs and then Directed Shipping Mgr duties for 3 yrs. These positions enhanced my Supply Chain experience by being able to maneuver and navigate, first hand, through the demand scheduling impacts upon the manufacturing side of the equation. This time period was another very impactful time in my work history, conceding an uncanny ability to visualize and minimize impacts to scheduling transitions and adjustments Vs demand requirements.

Port Neches Tx

Developed and maintained production schedules for 3 US facilities (Borger, Orange, and Baytown TX), managed a remote product transfer station (Lenoir City, TN) and oversaw warehoused inventory in 3 public warehouses (Cotter-Akron, OH, LaSarge-LA, CA, Hermann-Houston).

Borger Tx

Operated and mangaged all phases of the Borger Tx furnace plant operational duties from production to packaging, which became the foundation of my future. Looking back, these were my most formative and enjoyable working years. It was a true joy to work with so many inovative and positive leaders who truly believed that leadership was Action and not a Position.
