Craig was a member of the Executive Team of the NBME. His responsibilities included translating vision and strategy into operational tactics, focusing on continuous improvement, supporting new product lines and expansion of core services.In his role, Craig also served as a mentor and coach to individuals at many levels throughout the organization.

Provide measurement direction and research leadership for CTB’s products and services. Contribute to the formulation of business strategies across all operating units. Position Research to contribute to the company’s financial success and competitive position in the market. Lead and direct the conceptualization and design of R&D plans for new or expanded products and statewide testing programs. Provide psychometric guidance and counsel to other departments and uphold CTB’s reputation for excellence and leadership in the industry. Consult and collaborate with engineering regarding the integration of digital application systems needed to support CTB products and technology platforms. Work with content development on the next generation of methods (e.g., for rule-based item generation) and products (e.g., diagnostically rich assessments).

Oversee a multi-year practice analysis to revise the Uniform CPA Examination to match changes in entry-level practice that have resulted from advances in technology, outsourcing, and use of paraprofessionals. Represent the AICPA to the measurement profession. Advise on the adoption of measurement advances in AICPA examinations.

Responsible for the development and grading of the Uniform CPA Examination. Led the transition of the CPA Exam from paper to computer administration and the incorporation of cutting edge simulation case studies. Responsible for over 60 Examination staff and $20 million in revenue. Directed the transition of the Uniform CPA Examination from a twice-a-year paper test to a multi-stage computer adaptive test available throughout the year. Directed the introduction of complex performance assessments, novel item formats, automated test assembly, multi-stage adaptive testing, and other innovations to the Exam. Consistently met or exceeded budgeted margins and recovered CBT transition expenses three years ahead of schedule. Effective liaison with the Board of Examiners, the volunteer policy board overseeing the Exam. Developed excellent relationships with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and staff and board members of individual state boards of accountancy. Initiated international administration of the Exam in 2011. Negotiated Memorandum of Understanding with the national accountancy regulatory agency of Brazil. Also served as Vice President, CPE 2010-2012. Oversaw the consolidation of CPE from three locations to one. Managed the introduction of modern, online self-study products. Member of task force that developed new standards for continuing professional educations for Certified Public Accountants.
