A major project undertaken to simplify the legal entity structure of Lion. This entailed identifying entities for liquidation, identifying dividend traps within the structure and simplifying the intercompany processes. Creating policies with regard to each.

• Preparation of month end liquidity stress testing; funding plans (in currency); ALCO reports and liquidity papers for the Board meeting• Oversight of mortgages ring fenced into a Structured Investment Vehicles (Securitisations) and Covered Bond programs • Prepare analysis / forecasts for currency requirements across the business• Daily oversight on cashflows as well as liquidity monitoring and stress testing• Annual preparation of the Group's Liquidity Statement• Establish the liquidity buffer in currency for Board approval• Responsible for testing the new Focus ALM system with regards to liquidity requirements, FX reporting, repricing analysis and balance sheet reconciliations• Weekly monitoring of collateralised interest rate swaps, which were set up to hedge interest rate fluctuations (including the design of stress tests around the swaps)• Weekly monitoring of collateralised cross currency swaps, which were set up to hedge foreign currency fluctuations (including the design of stress tests around the swaps)• Design and subsequent review of the daily mismatch report – a mathematical model which monitored the cashflows of the bank and reported the net position across several crucial reporting dates• Responsible for the production of the Individual Liquidity Adequacy Assessment (ILAA) which was based on stress testing. The ILAA was a tool which calculated the size and nature of the bank’s liquidity buffer. (The amount of liquid assets the bank needed to hold, ensuring the bank is able to meet cash outflows in a stressed environment.) The ILAA was approved by the Board of directors prior to submission to the FSA

My responsibilities included, monthly management accounts, budget and forecasting. Oversight of the treasury function. Management of the accounting systems team. Statutory Accounts and maintenance of the relationship with the external auditors.

At Grampian I was responsible for co-ordinating the consolidated management accounts pack, weekly P&L as well ensuring all Intercompany reconciliations were performed timeously.Statutory accounts preparation and maintaining the relationship with the external auditors were also key features to the role.
