Former presidential speechwriter, CBS news writer and professor, Craig Smith is the author of 18 books. The most recent include his memoir "Confessions of a Presidential Speechwriter" and historical fictional autobiography of Herod the Great, "Herod from Hell." Smith recently became the Director Emeritus of the Center for First Amendment Studies which ran for 27 years. His past includes stints as the Director of Senate Services for the Republican Caucus of the U. S. Senate, Deputy Director of the National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee and President of the Freedom of Expression Foundation, where he raised millions of dollars to defend the First Amendment rights of broadcasters.
