As an Architect with 3D Reid I worked in their small, but dynamic, Retail Team on a number of speculative Retail projects at the Feasibility stage. I also worked on a Retail Fit-Out project from Warrant, through Production Information to Construction for Cotswold Outdoor's new venture in Fort William.The vast majority of my time with 3D Reid however was spent working on a large addition to Fort Kinnaird Shopping Centre in Edinburgh for Clients British Land. Working with the Associate Director who headed up the Retail Team, I was involved in taking forward Outline Proposals for two stand alone Cafe Units, seven Restaurant Units, four General Retail Units, a Management Suite, a Multi-Story Unit for a department store tenant and a new Cinema for Odeon, through Design to the submission of a large multi-facetted and contentious, but ultimately successful, Planning Application.As well as continuing to develop my skills working as Project Architect within a Design Team, the project gave me the opportunity to work closely with specialists such as Acousticians and Planning Consultants. The project also afforded me the opportunity to develop my skills in directing the work of Architectural Technicians and Architectural Assistants working with me.

Following successful completion of the Part 3 Exam in March 2010 I worked as an Architect with Holmes on Stonehaven Learning Centre for Aberdeen College. Alongside the Project Architect I developed specifications and Tender Information designed to meet with the highest BREEAM rating.I also worked on Jedburgh Health Centre, an extension and internal reworking of an existing building. My role was to produce a series of drawings detailing the interface with the existing building (which had already been extended once before). This involved constant coordination with M+E and Structural Engineers and manufacturers.

As an Architectural Assistant at Holmes Partnership I carried out a variety of roles; aiding Project Architects with Briefing, Design, Production Information and attending Site as required. Initially I was involved in Production Information for six Primary Schools in Dundee, four of which were on site and two preparing to go on site when I joined as a Part 2 in 2007.I went on to be involved in assisting the Project Architect and Partners with Warrant drawings, specifications and the Interior and Furniture design for Holmes Partnerships new office space at Dovecot Studio's, Infirmary St, Edinburgh in 2009.I then became involved with Holmes Custodial portfolio, before returning to Education to progress Planning, Warrant and Tender Packages for Canberra Primary School, East Kilbride in 2010.

As a Part 1 Assistant with Lewis and Hickey Architects I progressed a number of works designed to bring the Royal Bank of Scotland's branches up to code with the introduction of DDA regulations for public buildings. I carried out a number of Planning, Listed Building and Warrant Applications throughout Scotland and England for access ramps, works to external ATM's as well as general branch maintenance, signage, and mechanical and electrical improvements. All of these tracked and managed in MS Excel.
