Selected as Technical Team Lead on start-up of the first-ever commercial black liquor gasifier in 1997. When the gasifier vessel failed in 2000, assigned as project manager for the rebuild project. Managed all aspects of the capital project through the stage-gate capital allocation process, root cause failure analysis, fitness for service evaluation, new ASME coded vessel and refractory design, equipment and services procurement, fabrication QA/QC, site construction, commissioning, and start-up.
