As a product manager for a global company, I get to travel to many interesting places. Whether it is the ethnic delights in Singapore, or the friendly biergartens of Germany, I love traveling the world to meet new people and learn new things about them. The unique cultures of each place means new challenges to learn, and new, innovative solutions to develop. Many product managers can say they have presented to C-suite executives, but I’ve also presented and demoed a live product in front of thousands at a Hitachi trade show. It’s a nerve racking experience for anyone to go through, but I welcomed the opportunity and challenge of making my Automation product more prevalent by showing people what it can do.New ideas are often too few and too far in between. Coming up with new ideas is something I excel at, whether it’s having Alexa manage your storage or coming up with a new composable services platform, I’m always trying to imagine what is next for our line of products.Being a product manager, can be a stressful position. We make quick decisions that drive the company business and taking responsibility for those decisions, whether right or wrong (but mostly right), makes me an exceptional product manager who has earned the respect from my colleagues, leaders, and stakeholders.
