This strategic role oversees and leads the development of non-academic services, programs, facilities and initiatives aimed at servicing over 40,000 students and staff on the Macquarie University campus. The primary areas of responsibility include: Management of University business units such as Accommodation, Student Engagement and Events. Management of U@MQ Ltd business units (U@MQ Ltd is a subsidiary organization of Macquarie University) of Food, Beverage and Retail, Functions and Catering, Childcare, Sport and Recreation, and support services of HR, IT, and Asset Management. I employ approximately 600 staff with an annual turnover of approximately $40 million per year. Some of my accomplishments include: • Development and execution of a long term strategic plan focused• Achieved a 10% year on year growth in participation/occupancy rates across all business units• Rated in the top 5 Universities in Australia for support and engagement services by international and domestic students (2014)• Achieved Employer of Choice for Gender Equality Citation and am personally recognised as a Pay Equity Ambassador by Australia’s Workplace Gender Equality Agency • Achieved year on year increases in staff engagement metric – reaching 85% job satisfaction and organisational commitment • Overseen the delivery of over $20 million worth of building and refurbishment projects• Secured meaningful partnerships which have been strategically aligned to enhance the student experience including: Sydney FC, Asian Cup Training Facility, National Rugby Union franchise
