Motion control compensates for unmodeled dynamics and perturbations of the environment reacting promptly to keep the vehicle safely on the planned trajectory.In addition to leading a team of amazing engineers, I work cross functionally with Safety on hazards analysis, Systems Engineering on requirements and V&V and embedded software engineering on clean, easily maintainable code.

Led on-robot software framework, manipulation, systems engineering and test and infrastructure teams (~20 engineers in total.) Collaboratively developed the tech roadmaps, OKR plans, schedules, monthly priorities, etc. Analyzed system performance and led initiative to improve performance across the software team.

Developed the real-time controls framework for multiple control loops and multiple real-time threads used on over 15 different types of robots. With lead roboticists, designed and implemented our real-time hybrid control stack that has a dynamic state machine allowing seamless transition between position control, velocity control, torque control and admittance control.

• Lead the design and implementation of a new object oriented software platform for robotics and motion control. The platform includes an extensible motion library, robot kinematics, real-time networks, embedded web server. This software platform is the core of two general purpose motion controller product lines and one robot motion controller product line.• Created an event based motion programming API Lua scripting language. • Created a web interface for application programming, configuration, tuning and monitoring.• Developed smooth robot motion algorithms and kinematics modules for SCARA and polar robots.• Implemented PLCopen function block specification in C++• Led the adoption of an agile development process with continuous customer interaction, informative workspaces, test driven development, and weekly deliverables.
