Project Design Engineer
Current• Design high performance fuel systems for Motorsport, Automotive and Aerospace applications over various time scales• Using CATIA V5 to create surface, part and assembly models, optimising designs from an engineering or commercial perspective.• Keep to time and cost constraints to suit project requirements and working closely with members of the team to keep overall project to schedule. • Manage multiple projects at a time at a variety of different stages of project life cycle, from initial concept to full scale production.• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams including teaching new starters how to use systems and programs, consisting of CATIA V5• Create detailed engineering 2D drawings for manufacturing with suppliers or internal resource, working with production engineers to optimise designs.• Conduct regular design reviews both internally and externally with customers and suppliers globally to achieve the best possible design.• Produce detailed assembly instructions for production engineers to ensure final product meets standard and to ensure consistency over large scale production• Create internal procedures and processes to make the design phases as efficient as possible including writing macros to automate specific tasks.
