Our mission statement at CBG Homes was “Quality Homes for a Lifetime.” As President of the company I did it all, whether it was hammering a nail or closing a sale, I had my hands in it. I managed the subs while managing contracts on houses ranging from $375k to $1.2M. I oversaw the budget, schedules, quality control, trade relations, warranty (before, during, and after construction), permitting, and design. As President we had a number of successes including:• Averaging over $1 million in sales yearly.• Networking with local land owner to carve out several lots exclusively for local developers instead of selling his entire ranch to a national developer.

Pulte Homes is one of the nation’s largest homebuilders. I started as a Warranty Representative and eventually worked my way into managing several projects including community playground construction and design, managing corporate office remodels, and model home builds. I managed over 235 homes during the warranty period and oversaw roughly 20 new home builds concurrently in my role as the project manager and superintendent. I handled all aspects of quality control and it was at Pulte I was able to learn the ropes and become President of CBG Homes. What I learned the most was:• Customer satisfaction metrics. It is imperative that your customers be happy so I was able to take measurements of this to CBG Homes.• Building a quality house. I think this one is pretty obvious!• Vendor Relations. Your vendors and subs are the lifeblood of the building process, and by having good relationships with them you can put out any last-minute fires that can threaten a close.
