Thermal Analysis in Liquid Metal Batteries June 2016 – December 2016 • Developed a finite-element model (COMSOL Multiphysics) to simulate heat transfer through a battery cell. • Implemented temperature sensors that coupled with data acquisition software to verify test results using LabVIEW. • Ran thermal cycling and pressure tests in a laboratory setting for various battery sealants, and summarized findings weekly. Hydrodynamics for Computational Fluid Dynamics Modeling January 2017 – November 2017 • Created a CFD model capable of translating river depth data into velocity flow data in order to determine placement for marine hydrokinetics turbines. • Wrote a tutorial presentation for the model illustrating how to operate the CFD program and how the model was created.
