Em 2020, fui eleita vereadora da Câmara Municipal de São Paulo. Como vereadora, minhas principais bandeiras são a educação e questões ligadas à mulher, mas também tenho trabalhado nas áreas de saúde, sustentabilidade e diversidade. A fiscalização também é uma pauta importante no meu mandato. No primeiro semestre de mandato, criei e consegui aprovar a Lei de Prevenção ao Abandono e Evasão Escolar, resultado de um longo trabalho de estudo e dedicação aos problemas educacionais do município. Também destinei R$1 milhão em emendas para compra de vacinas, criei a Frente Parlamentar Contra a Fome, além de ser vice-presidente da Comissão de Educação e Cultura e da Comissão de Relações Internacionais.

Lead implementation of Oversight & Control (O&C) in JPMorgan Latin America. O&C is a trusted partner and key advisor charged with protecting the business, JPM clients and reputation. O&C promotes control culture, manage issues identification and its root cause; discuss, assess and advise on governance, policies and procedures. Implementation of a Risk and Control Self Assessment is also under the O&C priorities in addition to Enterprise Program Management.

Responsible to develop and complete the Audit plan for the 4 main offices in the region (Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Argentina) as well as for the Representative Offices (Peru, Venezuela and Colombia). I developed a comprehensive understanding of risks and controls for cash, derivatives and structured transactions which were the dominant activities across Latin America in JPMorgan. One of my key accomplishments in this role was to be able to consistently manage the audit plan timely; have also been able to make the audit team as a “regional” team and had them focus where the risks were thus, making people more enthusiastic about their job.

Responsible to cover the region, primarily for Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, for all aspects of the Compliance function varying from Anti-Money Laundering to Corporate policies such as Code of Ethics, Information Wall Policy, Associate Investments, among others. Developed an identity to the Compliance function across the region by integrating the teams from the various locations; participating in regional forum and committees; representing the discipline before local and US regulators and by voicing the Compliance objectives to business partners. Had great exposure with both local and US regulators.

I worked with the starting operations of the Goldman Sachs multiple bank in Brazil. The project was one of the most aggressive of Goldman Sachs worldwide. As part of the CFO role, in addition to the typical Controllers type job, operated with the several stakeholders of the project to help Head Office to understand the common local markets practices and regulatory environment in Financial, Operations and Technology, Human Resources, and various other matters and aspects of a multiple bank. Actively worked with external legal counselors, external auditors and consultants. Have worked with systems and technology implementation.

Responsible for the Financial department of JPM Brazil which encompassed supervision of books and records of the local legal entities supervision of Tax compliance and advisory; management of relationships with local regulators. As part of the Controller role have implemented the General Ledger Account Substantiation Process; participated on the development and implementation of Performance Measures for the Finance department regionally; reviewed key Local and US Gaaps differences and incorporated a structured reconciliation between the two books

Responsible for the Trader Support and Risk Monitoring areas, Credit Administration in addition to the New Products and Projects Groups. In this capacity had great interaction with Front Office personnel. Conducted daily review of positions and P/L had interaction with the markets issues across Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange and Equities (Sales & Trading). The Middle Office group was a new concept to JPM Brazil and the skills set of controls, processing flows and team building were critical to ensure a successful implementation.

Responsible for the Regional Audit for Latin America. Had the mandate to implement a strong regional audit function. Worked together with the regional business and infrastructure managers to ensure their support and feedback. Regional audit function was staffed and implemented accordingly.

At Chase started at the Internal Audit department as a trainee auditor; received several promotions up to Global Market Regional Auditor for Latin America; during the 10 years at Chase assisted and participated at the downsizing of Chase Brazil from a Consumer and Retail type business to an Investment and Corporate Bank. Also worked for for 18 months at the Financial Controls department as an Account Analyst and was provided the opportunity to have contact with the business requiring quick answers to the business demands for New Products.
