About José Cristóbal Arroyo Castellanos

I am a Software Developer with an emphasis on DevOps and Infrastructure at Ekumen, and an undergraduate computer engineering student at Universidad de los Andes. During my career as a student and a developer, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide set of technologies from web and mobile development frameworks, to infrastructure such as code, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines, and cybersecurity projects. Furthermore, I have worked on open source projects with Ekumen and the Open Source Robotics Alliance, helping the whole robotics community with infrastructure and operation of important world robotics technologies such as the ROS framework and Gazebo simulator.Additionally, I am keen on technology volunteering, and I have been involved in student initiative groups and IEEE student societies throughout my undergraduate studies. I was part of Robocol, a robotics student initiative, being the Computer Vision subsystem leader for three years. After that, with the hand of multiple IEEE colleagues, I founded the Computer Society student chapter at Universidad de los Andes, leading the chapter as its chair for one and a half years, getting from seven initial students to almost fifty. In this position, I led several technical projects, involving competitive programming and mobile development. I also had the opportunity to lead the organization of multiple technical workshops and events and connect with student and professional IEEE volunteers around the globe.Currently, I am committed to finishing my last semester getting my computer engineering degree, and starting my IEEE professional volunteering. I am also looking for a software developer position in DevOps, software operations, software architecture, or infrastructure where I can excel and contribute with my experience.
