Control System Design and Programming:• Learn to design and program HVAC control systems using PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DDCs (Direct Digital Controllers), and BMS (Building Management Systems). This includes writing control logic and sequences for temperature, humidity, and air quality regulation.Sensor and Actuator Integration:• Gain expertise in integrating various sensors (temperature, humidity, pressure) and actuators (valves, dampers, variable frequency drives) into HVAC systems. Understanding how these components interact and how to calibrate and maintain them is crucial.Energy Management and Optimization:• Develop skills in energy management by optimizing HVAC system performance to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency. This involves understanding energy-saving strategies, such as demand control ventilation and the use of variable speed drives.Electrical Wiring and Schematics:• Learn to read, interpret, and create electrical wiring diagrams and schematics for HVAC control systems. This includes knowledge of electrical components, wiring standards, and safety practices for installing and maintaining control systems.Building Automation and Integration:• Acquire knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and how HVAC controls integrate with other building systems, such as lighting, security, and fire alarms. Understanding communication protocols like BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks is essential for seamless integration and interoperability.
