Crystal Cason is a visual storyteller and brand strategist, passionate about transforming data and information into stories that help foster positive changes in the world. With two decades of global, cross-sectoral experience, she knows (and can teach you) how to transform your datasets into data stories that communicate the results and value of programming. She has led EnCompass’ Communications team since 2019, applying her expertise to continually redefine information design and creative reporting for EnCompass and its clients. The result is a growing suite of unique, accessible, and human-centered products that help tell the story of results from global development programming. Ms. Cason is also a skilled photographer, adding a keen eye for composition, color, and subject matter to her mix of skills. A lifelong learner herself, Ms. Cason has an MA in International Relations from Webster University and is always looking for ways to expand her knowledge. In her training and facilitation work, she brings humility and a collaborative mindset to complement her expertise in information design and data visualization. She wants to know what works for you and what challenges you face so you can build on each other’s skills and find solutions together. This perspective stems in part from having worked and studied across the world—in Central America, Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia. Her work builds on programmatic experience in HIV/AIDS, human rights and gender equality, and community development.
