- Responsible for advising the Commissioner in both the strategic and operational aspects of the management of the Department. - Organize and prioritize critical issues and required information for the executive to facilitate efficient decision making. - Oversee DMH offices of Communication, Human Rights, Investigations, Policy, and Recovery & Empowerment. - Manage the administration of organizational activities within the Office of the Commissioner, including but not limited to designing and coordinating the biannual statewide managers meeting agenda. - Advise and provide coaching for Deputy Commissioners on strategic policy, fiscal, program and service provision issues. - Lead key DMH initiatives: Safety – developing and implementing policies and protocols designed to improve conditions of safety at DMH, oversight of development of new safety incident reporting system; Equity and Inclusion – created the Office of Race, Equity and Inclusion, managing the integration of the principals of equity and inclusion in the day to day operations of DMH; oversee development of training related to race and ethnicity, development of pipeline system to increase # of persons of color in intern and permanent positions at DMH.

-Redesigned the administrative infrastructure of the MA Probation Service, including the development of business processes to increase efficiency and transparency in communications, fiscal, information technology, personnel and training. -Directed development of Probation policies and procedures to improve outcomes in the areas of Racial and Ethnic Disparities, Staff Safety, and Language Access for LEP clients. - Advised the Commissioner on strategy on policy and service provision matters. - Supervised Deputy Commissioners for Field Services and Programs and the Directors of Communications, Fiscal, IT, Personnel and Training. - Managed communication with representatives for Office of Court Management and Deputy Court Administrators, state and federal agencies and the general public.

- Directed the development of Department’s administrative services and programs, including creation and implementation of DYS budget, capital planning, procurement and contracting, personnel, work force development and information management. - Prepared position papers on service provision and operation systems – policies, implementation issues and strategies. - Supervised the Chief Financial Officer, Human Resources Liaison, Communication Specialist, EDP Systems Analyst, JJEMS Regional Administrators. - Directed interactions with legislative leaders and local officials, various media outlets. - Coordinated and managed implementation of the DYS Strategic Plan. - Advised the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner for Operations on strategic policy, fiscal, program and service provision issues. - Managed communications with representatives from Executive Office of Health and Human Services, state and federal agencies and the general public.
