About Crystal Garcia

Crystal is a leadership development expert, emergency management, security, and active threat consultant and public speaker with more than 20 years’ experience in both corporate and military sectors.Crystal has been recognized for her instrumental role in a real Healthcare active threat/active shooter incident and later her design and implementation of the first healthcare focused active threat training and realistic exercise execution and leadership in a healthcare setting. She collaborated with Security Services, Regional Community Partners, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and Homeland Security to ensure that the training was up to date and best-practice.Crystal served more than 12 years of active Federal service in the U.S. Army. She served as part of rapid deployment teams such as the Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Response Force (DCRF) and Operation Unified Response for the 2010 Haiti earthquake. This entailed the setup and management of critical medical facilities in austere environments. She has also served in the Tactical Operations Center (TOC) and managed all ground and air medical evacuation and critical medical resupply while at war in Afghanistan with an area of operation the size of the state of West Virginia.Crystal developed best-practice training that was adopted by the Department of Defense and the United States Army. Crystal has trained thousands of U.S. Soldiers including special forces, ATF, CIA, DEA, FBI, Homeland Security, and other governmental agencies on combat life saving measures, emergency medical technician EMT requirements for National EMT certification, and cycled through more than 2,000 medical professionals through hospitals and clinics to ensure that their skills stayed sharp.An innovative and strategic leader, Crystal holds a MS from Troy University, with a Criminal Justice concentration. She also holds a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice.
