I'm Crystal, a seasoned leader with over 18 years of experience in student life management at prestigious universities. My journey began with a passion for education, leadership development, and a Master of Education in College and University Student Personnel Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. Since then, I've been on a mission to build inclusive and engaging environments that support the diverse and dynamic needs of students, staff, and communities.As an Executive Director, I oversaw the construction and operation of massive student activity centers and union buildings. From managing a variety of union buildings and activity centers over 149,000 square foot to coordinating hundreds of large-scale diverse events, I turned challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality.But it wasn't just about the buildings—it was about the people. Every decision I made, every policy I implemented, was driven by a deep commitment to creating environments where every individual felt valued and supported. I believe diversity isn't just something to be celebrated; it's something to be embraced, nurtured, and woven into the fabric of our communities.One of the most rewarding aspects of my journey has been the relationships I've built along the way. From navigating compliance issues to managing the challenges of risk and information assurance, I've faced my fair share of hurdles. But with every setback came an opportunity to learn and grow, to refine our processes and strengthen our resolve.One of the greatest honors of my career was receiving the President's Outstanding Supervisor Award—a testament to the dedication and hard work of the incredible team I had the privilege of leading. It's moments like these that remind me why I do what I do: to empower others, to inspire change, and to leave a legacy that extends far beyond the walls of any building.As I continue this journey, I am more passionate than ever about the work that lies ahead.
