Manager Of Tecnical Operations

Got into Alliance just as the sub-prime ship was sinking fast. While the company didn't last long after I started I am fortunate to have had the chance to shut down operations for a company of their size. I know it isn't the experience that most would want but the reality is companies close and knowing how to close a company or just a remote office are skills I'm glad I have now.

Being on a Submarine, like many things in life, is not for everyone. I worked with an eccentric and amazing group. It wasn't always pretty but we always got the job done. Personally I worked in the part of the boat (submarines are called boats not ships) where all the action took place...the control room. I spent lots of time on the periscope and lots of time tracking the position of surface ships. Much of what I did was classified but it comes down to this...if need be I was there to make… Show more Being on a Submarine, like many things in life, is not for everyone. I spent lots of time on the periscope and lots of time tracking the position of surface ships. Much of what I did was classified but it comes down to this...if need be I was there to make sure we could launch a torpedo at an enemy vessel. The other priority I had was I was in charge of the boat's local area network. There were two "IT dudes" per crew (on a nuclear ballistic missile submarine there are two crews - Blue and Gold) and we were in charge of the Unix, Email and File/Print Servers as well as any other LAN connected devices.
