My name is Tate Matthews and I am a Junior at the University of Georgia, pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Cybersecurity. With around 8 years of experience in computer science and 4 years focused on cybersecurity, I am passionate about exploring the intersection of technology and security.I am proficient in Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML, C, Python, and SQL while currently expanding my knowledge of C++. I’m also gaining experience with the .NET Framework, Node.js, Ruby, and PHP. My studies have included ethical hacking and cybersecurity practices, utilizing Shell, Bash, and Python. At UGA, I’m deepening my understanding of computing theory through my systems programming course and enhancing my skills in SQL and reverse engineering.Beyond academics, I have a strong passion for music. I’ve been playing piano for 14 years, focusing on the works of Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Liszt, along with contemporary transcriptions. Additionally, I’m proud to be an Eagle Scout, having graduated from Troop 3000 in 2022. My high school experience included active participation in Model UN, where I earned awards for my position papers and committee engagement.
