Most recently, I worked with Scholastic Books and the Gates Foundation.For for Scholastic, I edited and researched stock, archival, publicity, and personal collection imagery for use in popular children's books. I worked under strict deadline pressure to deliver first-rate selections, even when dealing with non-standard photo sources. For the Gates Foundation, I edited shoots by contracted photographers of assorted foundation events from around the world. Using Adobe Lightroom, I handled each step: initial injest, captioning, keywording and metadata, rating, and color correction according to the client's protocols.

I was the first person Corbis' photographers contacted whenever a problem or question arose; I became adept at solving FTP connection problems and explaining the intricacies of the Corbis Contributor contract. Sometimes the questions I fielded were specific to the accounting folks or the photographer's editor, so the calls or emails were routed as needed. But I was able to address just about everything that came my way. Also successfully navigated a patchwork of back-end legacy systems in the quest for that elusive bit of sales data or an old image ID number.I trained dozens of contributors and coworkers on the Corbis Contributor Gateway, the company's web-based photo uploading and asset management tool. I trained people both remotely via Webex and face to face at a desk or conference room. I also wrote up a PDF of tips and shortcuts on the Gateway that I then reworked into a training manual. It was the first time in years anyone thought to gather all the Gateway information in one document; the manual is still in use today.I also was the first gatekeeper for potential Corbis photographers. New photographer applications were forwarded to me and I'd evaluate their portfolios, forwarding the best of them on to the appropriate editor. The editors trusted my judgement because of my background as a photo researcher, I knew the strengths and deficiencies of the collection.
