CTC's MISSION is to prayerfully help leaders start and strengthen churches to advance the gospel together in their city. We believe that the spread of the gospel in a city will not be possible through one type of church, or denomination, or ministry, but only through a gospel movement. We can be sure we are witnessing a gospel movement in a city when the body of Christ, unified by a common vision, is working to see impact in a city with robust and broad application of the gospel at a personal, community and social level.

We are Steve and Julia Cummings and we are empty nesters who desire to maintain healthy relationship with our adult children. MedSend enables highly qualified and dedicated, long-term healthcare professionals to serve spiritually and physically needy people around the world in the name of Christ. Without MedSend, these healthcare professionals would not be able to answer God’s call to serve – and many would never make it to the mission field at all. In addition, MedSend offers grants to support the training of national family physicians, surgeons and other specialists in their own country and region.

Built a new Major Gift Division in an organization experiencing triple-digit growth during a worldwide pandemic.

I have leveraged previous experience to help in the marketing and development of a new foundation, including YouTube, emails, website content, etc. Reconfigured messaging using StoryBrand framework to boost engagement.[Short tenure due to the pandemic shutdown]

I was recruited into the first ever Director of Development role. My focus was on building and sustaining partnerships with key donors through one-on-one visits and ongoing relationship building. * Raised $413K in donations in 2018, the best year in history; doubled monthly giving in Q1 2019; ended 2019 with best 4th quarter in five years. * Streamlined communication and introduced tools to engage givers/alumni; increased recurring gifts by 21%. * Utilized an app to build and nurture the alumni network for ongoing engagement and donations. * Created an annual event (Celebrating Freedom) that grew from 130 guests to 200+ the second year.

I led and built a successful giving program, while overseeing a team to boost the Advancement department’s strategic outcomes. As VP, I focused on relationship building and communications to optimize results. I promoted faithful biblical stewardship by building a culture of generosity and buy-in with Board, faculty, staff, and students. In addition, I brought gift processing back to Advancement in order to maximize stewardship of giver relationships. * Created and implemented Giving Tuesday campaign from $1K in first year to $60K in second year.* Improved online giving channels; resulted in faculty / staff giving percentage increasing from 17% to 30%. * Orchestrated the formation of two new scholarship funds which became the largest funds at MU. * Launched new MU app for younger generations to give and receive content for MU engagement.* Reclassified MU givers by giving level and added mid- major program to increase cultivation and lift. * Drafted and adopted advancement policies for MU gift acceptance and athletics fundraising.* Assisted the president in launching the first-ever Advancement Committee for the MU board of trustees. * Launched separate MU Alumni & Friends Facebook pages.* Led MU campus community through a re-branding process with a local marketing firm.

I oversaw seven Directors of Development across the United States, focusing on fundraising up to $15M in Major Gifts. In this leadership role, I managed a portfolio of 200+ major donors and foundations in the Pacific region (Alaska, California, Hawaii) who gave up to $1M annually. Also, I planned and coordinated major regional events and hosted donors at national events. I directly reported to the Senior Vice President of Advancement.* Grew fundraising from $2.6M to $3.5M over five fiscal years in the Pacific region.* Secured the only two seven-figure gifts on Major Gifts team during tenure.* Produced $2.5M annually in a territory that was reduced by three states.

Served in various capacities in radio production and marketing with clients such as: Chuck Colson, Max Lucado, Chuck Swindoll, Jack Hayford, Dennis Rainey and a host of others.

Created a marketing department to recruit Christian parents to become foster parents.
