  • Lumicycle
    Digital Marketing Manager
    Lumicycle Jul 2009 - Jan 2010
    Bournemouth, United Kingdom
After volunteering in Italy and France for two and a half years, I returned to the UK to work at LumiCycle again as Web Marketing and Internet Strategy Coordinator for the small UK e-commerce manufacturing start-up.To catch up with the latest developments, I attended courses on Google Analytics, SEO and AdWords run by Business Link Wessex, and implemented my new-found knowledge to the benefit of the business. The work was having a very positive impact on impressions and sales.Things that I really enjoyed:LumiCycle and it's atmosphere. LumiCycle is an award-winning and market-leading competition-level British bicycle light manufacturer. It was great working at LumiCycle, we were a great team, good friends, and would often meet up outside work for a ride. We loved our products and we used them.Personal development in Marketing. I really enjoy learning. Learning about web marketing and internet strategy was fascinating. I really enjoyed the process, implementing it and seeing the fantastic results. Aside from my work on the web, I was still part of the rest of the team, we all mucked in the production line doing electronic assembly, or on the telephones for sales or technical product support.Sadly my very positive results from the internet marketing came a little too late. LumiCycle had been suffering from the recession. I knew that LumiCycle couldn't really afford to keep me on, even at a reduced salary, so I discussed it with the MD and amicably took redundancy.

I was a greatly appreciated member of the team, and we all became fast friends.I really enjoyed growing LumiCycle, as IT administrator for the e-commerce web site processing £450,000 of sales per annum.
