Through its transport travel documents are attached - enabling trading partners and customs agents to view a single, shared record that they can track throughout the supply chain. Led a radical change in the way Debenhams run their Beauty business through the creation of a dedicated Supply Chain function charged with the responsibility to delivery stock and availability targets. This was part of the public strategy to grow the Beauty business to an annual turnover of £1bn.

The product range is vast with 20,000+ skus across 18 varied categories including some of the most prestigious luxury brands, delivered from a fully bonded warehouse. They are part of Autogrill, the largest travel retail group in the world. Recruited to head up a brand new function bringing professional supply chain skills to a company that had never focussed on this area before.Achievements and Current Activity:• Rationalised and integrated two separate supply chains following a business merger delivering efficiencies and cost savings of up to 20%.• Delivered £15m in net cashflow through reviewing the cash to cash cycle with supplier lead times reducing by 20% and stock cover falling from over 70 days to 40 days.• Supplier collaboration championed through demand forecasting and lead time reductions• WSSI reporting and OTB controls introduced specifically for seasonal areas of the business• Initiated capacity planning across the length of the supply chain• EDI rolled out for purchase orders and invoices with all suppliers, focussing now on data synchronisation for new products• Full reporting suite has given genuine control over the supply chain• Replenishment algorithms created to consistently maintain store visual merchandising standards • Major operational improvements in processes and product availability levels delivered for stores• Leading a project for Logistics efficiencies – lead time reductions, picking and Goods In processes• Major focus on team development and training that had been left for 7 years• Environmental charter being established with suppliers to support ISO14001 accreditation

Promoted into this role to utilise my supply chain skills of 3PL management and purchasing skills of supplier development. Responsible for managing reactive and planned maintenance as well as ensuring the statutory compliance of all retail stores through an outsourced helpdesk and service contracts, annual spend of £11m.Achievements: • Developed and implemented functional strategy incorporating a 5-year roadmap• Re-engineered process negotiating a principal contractor solution for the entire maintenance activity delivering higher service levels and savings of £5m over 2 years equivalent to 1% of sales • Managed change from in-house to outsourced solutions leading to genuine supplier partnership• Influenced Board to implement a new capital expenditure policy for replacement of plant and equipment leading to long term improvements in brand standards

New role responsible for the procurement of all retail goods (spend of £60m) and store construction materials (spend of £15m).Achievements: • Developed new design specifications for core equipment – coffee machines, sandwich cases• Introduced formal contracts for all suppliers including a service level agreement with specific measurable KPIs• Negotiated milk contract (largest single annual purchase) saving £2m• Instigated a development programme with key suppliers improving performance and quality• Managing the restructuring of the fresh food supply chain

Total management of the retail goods supply chain for all stores in the EMEA region covering purchasing, QA, production planning and logistics. To deliver excellent service and quality at very low cost across 1000 products, 350 stores and spend of £50m.Achievements: • Outsourced consolidated supply chain solution with major international 3PL improving service to stores and reducing long terms costs• Project managed the systems integration for new supply chain• Introduced independent QA assessment of all fresh food suppliers (high risk) and packaged food suppliers (low risk)• Beat budgeted margin by negotiating savings worth over £3m with suppliers• Re-engineered store distribution reducing costs, increasing delivery frequency, reducing pack sizes• Established wholesale supply chain for non-retail channel into commercial markets
