Managing a team of technical writers responsible for documenting eBay APIs. The eBay API documentation team produces documentation to help internal developers build RESTful services that comply with current eBay standards. We also produce documentation with details and best practices to help external developers understand and use eBay APIs to provide the greatest benefit for their business and their customers. In my manager role at eBay, I'm focusing on helping the API documentation team adapt to new processes, tools, and technology as we work on both internal and external developer documentation. As manager, I clarify processes and requirements for the team and help identify tooling opportunities to improve efficiency and quality of documentation. I contribute to organizational standards and guidelines to improve the business.I work with stakeholder teams to prioritize and plan work for the documentation team. I work with individual writers to assign and evaluate work. I work with internal and external users to collect feedback on the expectations and usability of eBay developer documentation. I am responsible for hiring and managing writers to create a culture that embraces customer focus, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Managing a team of technical writers responsible for documenting PayPal APIs and other developer products.I joined PayPal in May 2012 as manager of PayPal Developer Documentation, responsible for all public documentation for PayPal’s APIs and developer products. In this role, I focused on aggregating PayPal’s developer documentation and presenting a simpler and more engaging developer experience for PayPal’s new developer site and APIs. While a manager at PayPal, I and my team made key contributions to the successful launch of PayPal’s new developer site and APIs, which have been well received by developers and the media.
