As a Master Technologist Architect for Network Switch Platform and Wireless Mobility Platform, was responsible for driving the architectural direction of several networking products and helping define the development and testing environment used by a team of over 50 engineers across multiple geographies.- Re-designed the low level interface that interacts with the ASIC used in HP Networking Campus Switch products. Guided the ASIC API team on the requirements needed by the Network Operating System.- Developed a proof-of-concept implementation of a Wifi-based location tracking product leveraging research from HP Labs. Was able increase the accuracy of location tracking by 80%.- As the most experienced architect on a new development team, drove the creation of an open source network operating system from existing components. Acted as Agile coach for the team guiding them in Scrum methodology and how to setup a Continuous Integration and Testing environment.- Drove the adoption of Docker containers into the development environment of multiple teams.

A Master Technologist Architect and Agile Scrum Product Owner for the Mission Critical Controller (MCC) Multi-system Management Appliance. Responsible for guiding the technical direction for a group of 40 software developers creating the product, while transitioning them to a Scrum development methodology.- Co-designed the Mission Critical Controller to fit into the Converged Infrastructure Ecosystem and provide Virtualization and Multi-system Management for x86 Linux-based servers..- As Product Owner, guided a Scrum team to setup a development environment including source control, unit testing, artifact management, and integration testing.- Worked with Scrum team to design and develop a simulation module on top of the open source oVirt bits to allow the MCC to develop virtualization management capabilities using limited physical servers.- Developed and maintained backlog of prioritized User Stories to guide the Scrum team in development of MCC product. Drove the team to increase development velocity while also increasing teamwork.- Presented MCC architecture and capabilities at Customer Advisory Board (CAB).

Became involved in the design and development of every major feature of the Serviceguard (SG) HA Clustering product. Became the only person that knew how every part of SG worked so I could guide the design of new features while also helping others do debugging. Some highlights include:- Designed and developed many SG features including online modification of packages, multi-node packages, modular package control, live application detach, and generic resources..- Re-designed the service monitoring daemon to do all service start, stop and monitoring independent of the main cluster daemon. Created a new utility daemon communication protocol as well as a new patented way of authenticating clients based on file systems permissions.- Was selected to participate in the international Service Availability Forum (saforum.org) which was a collection of HA vendors and Telco service providers tasked with coming up with a standard API specification for service availability providers. Went to several meetings around the world and worked with other companies to design this specification. Proceeded to implement parts of the specification into the SG product including a distributed lock mechanism for which I was awarded a patent.- Helped introduce Agile development methodologies into the SG development lifecycle.- Provided training and mentoring to many engineers on the SG product. As we transitioned the responsibility of SG to India, I was selected to go over and train the engineers in India and continued to provide consultation to them on issues for 2 years after the transition.

Started as a System Software Specialist and was promoted to System Software Expert on May 1, 2000. Some highlights include:- Designed and developed an in-memory, distributed database for cluster configuration that provided a transaction protocol allowing internal modules the ability to deny transactions and have them rolled back across the cluster while also providing a callback mechanism to allow both internal modules and external daemons to be notified of transactions.- Re-designed network monitoring within SG product to move it from within the main cluster daemon to an external daemon that monitors the networks at both the TCP and IP layers and add or remove relocatable IP addresses to interfaces.- Designed and developed a new object-based API with multiple object providers and a front-end SQL query interface. Submitted and was awarded 2 patents on this API design.
