As a technology consultant and advisor, I primarily provide a range of guidance to AI companies at various stages of development. My counsel includes security, operations, policy and governance. My prior experience at Meta and at Edison include program development & advisories on AI/machine learning programs. Relatedly, My skills regarding the software development lifecycle, are also applicable - particularly for organizations that utilize a "DevSecOps" (Development, Security, Operations) model for software development.In parallel, as a law school professor, I teach the next generation of attorneys how to mitigate technology and national security risks. This includes attacks against "critical infrastructure" - such as the electric grid, financial systems, telecommunications and more. It also includes dealing with advanced security threats, such as those posed by AI.At Meta I led a team of security professionals striving to innovate legal, regulatory, and policy solutions. I drove results for some of the biggest risks facing "big tech" social media platforms, AI and metaverse included. Achievements include building out, and maturing, the organization's GRC (Governance, Risk Management, Compliance) functions; strengthening the organization's "FinTech" (Financial Technology) arm; and bridge-building between different silos within the organization.My prior role was Chief Counsel for Cybersecurity for a US electric utility. I created and ran one of the first, and one of the most sophisticated, enterprise-wide cyber legal programs in the nation. The program was designed to tackle (I) conventional threats such as data breach and (II) advanced threats from cyber terrorists and nation states seeking to cripple the country’s Critical Infrastructure.Finally, as an academic, I played a leading role in launching Southern California’s first cyberlaw and privacy concentration at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. I thrived training the next generation of attorneys to answer questions such as how will cyber threats, cloud, AI and other disruptors impact the nation.For fun, I teach business & law classes about Godzilla, Korea Dramas, and Hello Kitty (recovering IP lawyer).
