Primary Responsibilities for the Citrix XenApp, Netscaler and Storage infrastructure.

Primary responsibilities as part of the Medical School Central IT Services, Systems Administration and Engineering Team include; hardware spec and implementation to meet service offering goals (HP Proliant Servers, HP EVA and MSA storage, HP/Brocade Fibre Channel Switches, XIO Magnitude Storage, Hitachi Unified Storage), operating system support (Windows 2000 – 2008 R2 and RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 – 5), virtualization environments (VMWare ESX 2.5 – 4.1 and Citrix XenServer 5.6), backups (Tivoli Storage Manager), Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (2000 -2008R2), Citrix Access Infrastructure (Secure Gateway, Access Gateway Standard, Advanced and Enterprise, Netscaler 6 -9.3, XenApp (Presentation Server) 4.0 – 6.5, Microsoft ISA and TMG, Microsoft DNS, DHCP and WINS.Secondary responsibilities include Basic Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2010 Administration, SQL 2000 – 2008, IIS 5 – 7.5 and Teir 3 User Support for items falling in the Primary Responsibilities.Current Projects Include: Decommissioning Pre XenApp 5 Citrix Infrastructure, Replacement of Fibre Channel Switching Infrastructure, Replacement of XIO Magnitude 4000 with Hitachi Unified Storage, Upgrade of All AD DS infrastructure to 2008R2, Investigation of an IP Address Management solution to integrate Microsoft DNS and Replace Microsoft DHCP, and long term Virtualization Planning.

As part of the Instructional Technologies and Library Systems group of the School of Medicine, the duties included; Student IT Support of access to school resources and Tier 2-3 support of audio-visual systems for student education.IT resources for students included, personal student computer access to course curriculum using Lotus Notes, wireless access, account creation, computer lab maintenance, desktop OS imaging and application installation. AV support included equipment selection, system design, installation and backup projectionist when needed.

Support 100-Bed hospital with basic Biomedical Electronics Technician level as well as other local contracted sites. Duties included, Electrical Safety testing, Preventive Mantenance, and break fix repair of general hospital equipment. Supported a Peritronics OB Monitoring system based on Windows NT 3.51/4.0 and Windows 3.11. Also received training in break-fix of sterilizers.
