Currently in my 2nd year of study with an ESRC 1 + 3 award to complete a PhD researching Image Based Sexual Abuse in the department of Political Science and International Studies.

As a sales assistant at Mid-counties cooperative I provided a friendly, knowledgeable and efficient service to customers and colleagues. I took great pride in being positive, flexible and dedicated to working as part of a team, to deliver exceptional customer care to the highest possible standards.My responsibilities included checkout operations, stock control, replenishment, news & magazines, cash handling and acting as an ambassador for the Co-operative values and membership.

As a student representative for the School of Government and Society I attended staff student liaison committies and departmental meetings channelling information between the student body and the department. I represented the views of the student and was a point of contact for any students who wished to raise any issues to the department. As part of my role as a student representative I was a panel member of academic appeals committee's, contributing to the decision of the panel, making an impartial judgement in sometimes difficult and emotive situations and providing an important student perspective to the deliberations.

As a Student Ambassador for the Department of Political Science and International Studies, I represented the department at open days and at admission days. In my role I was required to provide prospective students of the University with an insight into student life in Birmingham, taking them on campus tours and speaking at open days talks about my experiences here at Birmingham. This position allowed me to improve my communication and public speaking skills. As a Student Ambassador I was chosen to present an introduction to the topic of immigration at the Guardian's "You talk, They Listen: Immigration" general election debate, which took place at the University in April 2015. This was a great opportunity for me to gain confidence in public speaking and talk about something I am passionate about.
