In my role as deckhand on board Private Yacht I was tasked with any number of responsibilities from driving tender, bridge and navigation watch as well as the overseeing and running of water sports activities for the guests on board. In my time at sea I developed skills such as communicating with client’s face-to-face, working long hours as part of a team and building close working relationships. The role was great for consistently keeping me challenged academically as well as physically. In my time at sea I gained several sailing, boat driving and watercraft qualifications. Working in a close knit and fast paced environment, I feel, has prepared me well for life in any number of different pursuits.
