Redesigned and restructured website from the ground up for nonprofit 501(c)(3) conservation organization. Wrote copy for website, including rewriting existing materials and creating net-new pages. Authored, edited and/or laid out newsletter content and email marketing. Developed press releases and pitched stories to local, regional and statewide press. Advised the board on best practices for recruiting the organization’s first executive director. Collaborated with board members and board president to improve messaging and outreach efforts.

Created B2B and B2C marketing campaigns targeting new and existing clients via LinkedIn/Facebook ads, mass marketing emails, landing pages, videos, brochures, cut sheets, press releases, direct mailers, talk tracks, slide decks, webinars, etc. Acted as media liaison and both proactively and reactively seeded stories across broad media markets and specific trade publications. Led a team of writers tasked with responding to over 115 RFPs annually for nursing and allied health solutions. Sourced and vetted opportunities, as well as developed unique response strategies. Wrote, edited and oversaw entire process. Conducted competitor research to create and update large content library targeted to expose competitors' weaknesses and highlight company strengths. Wrote and/or edited white papers and other content, as needed. Tracked internal and external trends to learn, adapt and ensure high success rate.

Wrote, designed and responded to RFPs, RFQs, RFIs and ITBs. Responsible for vetting and creating new standard copy sections, as well as redesigning look and feel of proposals. Worked collaboratively with editor, sales managers, sales executives, operations, IT and more to gather information for bid responses. Crafted responses to highlight competitive advantages and speak directly to bid evaluation criteria.

Responded to calls for assistance from students seeking technical or operational support. Actively worked to deescalate situations, as needed, while providing clear, actionable guidance to help the students overcome obstacles. Reviewed complex medical documents, including immunization records, certifications, medical documents and more to ensure required documentation was present, accurate and accounted for.

Wrote regular column recommending books, movies, music, local entertainment and restaurants for monthly magazine publication. Also wrote business features, lakeside-living articles and helped to develop layout and content.

Used Adobe InDesign to create and layout marketing materials, as well as proofread and edited copy.

Oversaw newsroom staff and freelance writers for weekly newspaper and monthly high-quality magazine publications.
