As a USV Master Pilot I ensure the safe navigation of the uncrewed surface vessel while conducting marine geophysical surveys for offshore wind farms using multibeam sonar and towed side scan sonar equipment.• Have overall responsibility for the Health, Safety and Welfare of all personnel directly involved with the physical operations of the USV.• Reviewing Operational Risk Assessments and ensuring that they have appropriate and sufficient mitigations.• Monitoring and providing communications to the Marine & Project Management.• Preparing and assisting in the completion of relevant documentation within the management systems.• Planning, preparing and exporting Passage plans to the USVs.• Assisting with the assessment and implementation of survey routes and monitoring the quality of data being collected during survey operations.

While employed onboard Al Raya I gained extensive experience with Kongsberg Dynamic Positioning and Integrated Bridge System. I am skilled at passage planning, manoeuvring vessels and project management. I have completed three intense dry-dock periods overseeing the certification and servicing of the navigation and safety equipment. During my time at sea I have proven myself to be reliable, hardworking and an enthusiastic officer. I work well in a team and have shown excellent leadership skills, all of which has been reflected in my appraisals. I always enjoy working and look forward to the future and the new challenges it will bring.

I completed three summer months onboard Ona a 110m private motor yacht in a temporary position. I was called back for more relief work in October while the yacht was on standby. The yacht was busy, continuously guest ready during the summer mainly cruising in Sardinia and the South of France. During my time onboard I was responsible for the safety equipment onboard, completing maintenance and safety inspections. When required I also completed passage planning and other bridge related work. There was a Kongsberg integrated bridge system which I am very familiar with and a Rolls Royce DP system which I was comfortable controlling unsupervised. While onboard helicopter operations were completed during my watch. Each day after completing my bridge watch I went on deck to help with guest/tender movements or to help with wash downs.

I completed six months on board Rio Rita a 55m private motor yacht. The yacht was busy covering 5700 nautical miles during the season. The yacht was based in Athens Greece and used to explore the Greek islands in the Ionian and Aegean Seas. While underway, I kept a navigational watch and once we reached the destination I was based on deck helping with guest excursions, which always required a tender. I created passage plans using Furuno ECDIS and Radar fitted to the yacht. When guests were not onboard I was completing chart corrections, deck maintenance and wash downs.

Capricorn Voyager / Sonangol Benguela / Castor Voyager

While completing my cadetship with Chevron I worked on oil tankers and liquefied natural gas carriers. During this time I completed two navigation, anchor or cargo watches each day. After completing the watches I helped the officers on board with the inspections of the LSA/FFA and their corrections on charts/publications. I also assisted the Chief Officer with the work schedule and crew placement on jobs. Every two weeks I delivered a safety presentation to the crew on different LSA and FFA equipment. I also helped with deck maintenance which involved painting, greasing and the replacement of parts. The ships were world trading and I have sailed in the North and South Atlantic, North Pacific, South and East China Sea, Philippine Sea and the Tasman Sea.
