I am a recent graduate with a Master degree in Biotechnology from Northwestern University. My prime interest lies in synthetic biology and biomolecular engineering, especially for DNA synthesis, assembly, and applications.During Covid, I have worked as a research assistant at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where I enhanced phenazine-1-carboxylic acid (PCA) production of Pseudomonas aeruginosa M18 by creating triple-deleted mutants.As a graduate student researcher, I worked on a project that employs a combination of anammox bacteria and denitrifying polyphosphate accumulating organisms for simultaneous phosphorus and nitrogen removal. During this project, I become familiar with the construction and operation of bioreactors.With a strong academic background in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UCLA and a Master's degree in Biotechnology from Northwestern University, I aspire to engineer and re-purpose complex biological functions for practical applications in energy, health, and the environment.
