•Bentley Motors is one of the leading designers, manufacturers, and marketers of luxury motors. I worked full time for the company on a placement year acting as a Requirements manager. •As Requirements Manager it was my job to oversee the creation, development, and release of the Level 2 Body Systems Requirements for multiple vehicle projects. It was also my job to assist with the release of the Level 1 Whole Vehicle & Level 3 Body Sub-Systems requirements projects.•Day-to-day I would be required to meet with body system lead engineers and discuss developments in the vehicle design. I would also need to take note of, escalate and resolve issues regarding design specifications that could not be met. •Systems Engineering was at the core of the job role which saw me create design specifications and link them with testing procedures & relevant legislation for the upcoming BEV Bentleys. This in turn helped me develop my innovative but calculated mental skills.•My ability to upskill was tested as I was able to learn a new software for writing requirements called AVW in a short period of time. My capability with the toolset gave me the opportunity train & upskill other employees as the toolset used was new to the company.•Organisation & Communication were key in this role as I was required to host/chair weekly meetings in co-ordination with extended team members to discuss vehicle designs, specifications, and general updates.•Conducted vehicles inspections noting potential design flaws and possible improvements. This allowed me to develop my V&V skills.•Took part in multiple workplace placements in departments such as paint, manufacturing, launch control and quality which allowed me to build my network within the company and showcase my adaptability skillset.
