Leader of MBI International & Partners business development efforts in Iraq, established MBI presence in fourth quarter 2003, opened a Baghdad office in January 2004. My team worked closely with senior members of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), Ministers of the Government of Iraq and other non- governmental organizations to define opportunities and requirements. Due to hostile activity office was closed in July 2004, however, presence has been maintained through meetings outside Iraq and several trips into Baghdad and surrounds. The process is ongoing with relationships established with various representatives of the United States Government both Department’s of State and Defense; senior representatives of the Government of Iraq; and local business leaders.

This position is in a privately held, international limited liability, company with a broad portfolio of business interests including Middle East construction, development and facilities management; International leisure industry including luxury European hotels and golf resorts; Middle East, North Africa fast moving consumer goods and food related commodities; seaport operation and management services; energy sector services and development; Caribbean based joint ventures and United Kingdom property management. Responsibilities include; analysis of business unit and country level operational and financial procedures and results; development of business plans and performance metrics; analysis of new business opportunities available for acquisition or partnership position; Leader Mergers and Acquisition Team; establishment of special purpose companies; liaising with customers, financial institutions, solicitors and other consultants; evaluation of contract and pricing bid documents and negotiation of contract and sub-contract proposals. Strategic responsibilities include; preparation of out years business strategy and business development; preparation of five year business plans; evaluation of non-traditional business opportunities and territories and analysis of target market trends. In this position and all other MBI affiliated positions I report directly to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Jadawel International, one of the premier real estate development, operation and management companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, provides high quality housing and personnel support services to expatriates employed by various international defense corporations. I was responsible for all aspects of operations management, including balance sheet and P&L, in what is one of the largest privately owned companies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This company is a wholly owned affiliate of MBI International.

AJWA/RMTI, now the AJWA Group for Food Industries, is a large commodities company specializing in the processing of rice and grains into the Middle East marketplace. My assignment was to evaluate and make changes to processes and company management to recover from previous poor operational results. As a senior member of an interim management team I introduced new financial controls, standard practices and contracting methods into the company, improving performance and profitability; replaced existing senior management with fast moving consumer goods professionals from several international commodities companies placing the company on a solid performance footing; led financial restructuring activities resulting in new lines of trade credit, improved procurement procedures, product distribution methodologies and warehousing improvements; participated in the development of company brands and the negotiation of a co-packing agreement with a well known international rice brand that covered a substantial portion of the company’s fixed costs. Transferred to another assignment within the MBI group after establishing internal controls and assisting new management settle into the tasks at hand.

McDonnell Douglas Services was a subsidiary of the McDonnell Douglas Corporation operating in Saudi Arabia. In this position I was responsible for the business management of a foreign military sales (FMS) program awarded by the United States Government to support the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Peace Sun Program (F-15 fighter planes). From 1992 this responsibility was expanded to include an additional FMS contract to support the AH64 Apache helicopter through the Royal Saudi Arabian Land Forces. Participated in prime contract negotiations for the TSPII, TSP II expansion, TSP III and PDM/MSIP support programs. I reported directly to the program Vice President.
