In this period I travelled mostly to the Middle East and Afghanistan. During 2011, I covered the uprising in Egypt, Syria, Libya. In November 2011, I did my third embed with American troupes, this time in the Kunar province and I focused my reportage on the situation in the mountains bordering with Pakistan. In march 2010, I interviewed general Stanley McChrystal and this January president Hamid Karzai, his first interview with an Italian newspaper

Between 1998 and 2000 I developed and managed the Corriere della Sera website, back then was a sort of one man (myself) band operation. In 2000, I became the co-editor of the newly launched version of the website, with a real newsroom and 12 people working for it
