I managed social media and direct-to-student communications at Napa Valley College during a period of significant change and development (interim and new president, student housing construction, cyber-security attack on systems, to name a few). This included strategy, planning, content creation, editing, writing, and working closely with groups across campus to share relevant information to current and potential students. During my first 90 days, I increased engagement on primary social media platforms by nearly 40%, defined the marketing style (visual and written), developed strong informational content that focuses on photos and videos of staff and students, redesigned existing marketing materials with a student-centered focus, and developed dozens of social media ads to drive enrollment with a slim budget.Some of my most exciting projects include: developed a series of ads to be displayed on local public buses and bus stops, wrote and recorded audio ads for radio/Spotify, designed a series of custom stickers alongside dozens of other NVC giveaway items, established a presence on TikTok with a focus on fun, funny student-centered content, covered the 2022 commencement ceremony with social media focus, helped launch new website design, managed communications during cyber-security attack on systems during major enrollment season, and more!

In this position, I served as the sole visual creative producing digital and print campaigns for a medium-sized wine retailer. I focused primarily on developing marketing content including email banners, social media graphics (photo, video, image, motion graphics, ads), website banners, multiple 60-page catalogs, postcards, menus, posters, and more. I ensured that company brand guidelines were followed closely to improve consistency of voice and style across all marketing channels, and further developed our style during major company transition in leadership and marketing style. I also conceptualized and developed social ads that garnered a 1000% profit in about a month. I organized product and lifestyle photoshoots, directed models and photographers, assisted with styling, and acted as photographer for social media and catalog imagery. IT has transformed during the past 12 months. It's no longer a "Have you tried turning it on and off again?" type of role; it's a "Let's see how we can fix this problem, and make it better for the next person." In this position, I researched software and assets for use at a California Community College attended by about 9,000 students each semester. I'm skilled working with Banner and Canvas to solve enrollment issues and technological problems, while also maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor to my students. I created educational videos and FAQ guides for complex technical applications for students and faculty to utilize, while flexing my creative skills to make these products interesting and enjoyable to watch. I also worked one-on-one with instructors and students to help solve their technological issues, all remotely - as you might imagine, this is challenging but infinitely rewarding as well.
