An investment professional with extensive knowledge of small European companies gained over 25 years managing equity funds. I have an understanding of a wide range of industries and a good network across much of smallcap corporate Europe. My skill set includes - Extensive knowledge and contacts across a broad range of industries in Europe - The ability to rapidly identify the key issues that drive success across different businesses - The tools needed to conduct analysis of business strategy, operations and financial returns - Wide experience of face to face meetings with top management discussing their businesses - A keen appreciation of the requirements of shareholders and other stakeholders in companies- Practical experience of setting up a business and securing finance In my business career my focus has been on small quoted European companies. Now that I am in retirement mode I am using my skills to contribute to the development of start ups and emerging companies. In most cases I am also a shareholder. The feedback from the companies has encouraged me that my input is constructive and my experiences to date as a non executive director also confirms this. I have contributed to the assessment of the strategic direction of the ventures and finding the right solutions for practical problems, identifying financing options and advising the management on the company's relationship and communication with its shareholders and, if required , knowledge of what being a stockmarket listed company means.
