Completed a 3 1/2 year artificer apprenticeship at the Royal Navy School of Marine Engineering, followed by 4 years 'journeyman's time' serving worldwide at sea on Destroyers, gaining watch keeping certificates, professional exams and promotion through the ranks to CPO.
