As a social work student and professional, I applied my knowledge and skills in direct practice, mental health and substance misuse, and advocacy to provide quality care and support to clients from various backgrounds and needs. I worked with a team of professionals to conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, facilitate group sessions, and provide referrals and resources. I also contributed to the evaluation and improvement of the counseling services and programs, using data and feedback from clients and stakeholders.I graduated with a Master of Social Work degree from The University of Texas at Arlington in August 2023, after completing my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work degree from Texas Southern University in May 2022. I graduated cum laude from both programs, and as an advanced standing student, I finished my MSW within a year. During my academic journey, I volunteered, participated in internships, and developed work experience in the social work field, gaining exposure and insight into various social, community, and mental health issues and interventions. I am passionate about advocating for social justice and empowering individuals and communities to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.
