Beacon Program Director
CurrentUniversity Settlement partners with 40,000 New Yorkers on the Lower East Side and in Brooklyn every year to build on their strengths as they achieve healthy, stable, and remarkable lives. We work with New Yorkers of all ages. Beacon Programs provide safe havens for 1,200 youth and adults annually. Beacon Programs provide academic assistance, cultural and recreational activities and drug prevention and reduction programs for youth in the community.Responsibilities:*Provide oversight and supervision to all aspects of the Beacon Program*Renew SACC and DOH licenses to ensure city and state compliance*Responsible for recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of all program staff*Train and develop staff and facilitate a collaborative management team*Manage and maintain program budgets ensuring compliance; work closely with the Finance department*Develop and manage all program and relevant family/youth support services*Plan, organize, and implement community building events for families of the Beacon Program*Partner with Human Resources to facilitate job actions*Track and recruit students to ensure engagement and productivity during and after school*Act as liaison to DYCD and Community School District 1*Develop plans for strategically implementing program objectives*Prepare monthly reports of program information and data and other reports as needed*Work collaboratively with all program partners, subcontractors, the schools, site-based management team, and community*Ensure effective linkages with all subcontractors, co-locators and partners*Plan and staff summer, fall and weekend activities*Attend relevant community meetings, agency-wide administrative meetings, and participate in committees as needed*Provide leadership to the Beacon Advisory Board and Youth Council*Work closely with parent coordinators and principals
