I'm a US Navy Veteran and worked for a number of years as an aviation electrician on F-18s. I really enjoyed the fast paced environment. My shop had ownership of the flight control computers and I grew a curiosity for their inner workings and this sparked my interest in software and code. When I got out of the military I learned Lua as my first language. I found myself working on a small team developing a GUI and improving usability using Lua and the Geyser framework. I was afforded an opportunity to work very closely with the visually impaired community and I was really touched by the difference we were able to make by just being accommodating to the needs and requests of our community we'd grown. I was hooked and I wanted to learn more.I decided to pursue a more common language so that I could share my creativity and build new experiences with a larger audience. I picked up learning JavaScript and decided to take the leap of faith and attend Full Stack Academy. The hard work and persistence paid off as I am now in a position to leverage my creativity in a way that allows everyone to experience it in their own unique ways that they are most able.
