23 years of engineering experience in concepts, research and development, design and manufacturing, from the start of a product all the way to the customer and everything in between. Have worked in the amusement ride industry, engineering and machine automation industries and health and wellness industry. Have learned from many great people and books, I have a passion for knowledge from many places. Working from start to finish, I have worked alongside talented industrial designers gaining key insights into ergonomics, haptics, optics, the importance of lines, geometry and textures. I continue to integrate these concepts in my work today in manufacturing.I started my career in roller coasters and later worked on a variety of rides. Designing for safe and exciting rides required attention to detail, safety, budget and timeliness....30 million dollar rides that a 16 year old park employee can operate! Learning from an accomplished PHD and saavy Meng, both PE's was extremely valuable and accelerated my growth and knowledge. Working collaboratively with engineers, project managers, assembly technicians, GM's, and even owners added exceptional depth to a foundational skillset important to successful execution of monumental achievements. Regardless of title, everyone has value and you can learn from anyone at any level. Machine automation was surprisingly satisfying. My greatest takeaway from the dozens of automation projects I took part in is to create the simplest, most effective user experience. Whether through simple or complex design solutions, the user experience is always the goal. I have utilized automation concepts and designs throughout my entire career. Nearly 15 years in the health and fitness industry from R&D, concept engineering in Industrial Design and manufacturing engineering and management, nearly two dozen patents along the way and great team and individual accomplishments have made the time go by quickly. I am passionate about change, improvement, culture and collaboration, most importantly though, people development.
