I spent 14 years working in a private prison after leaving school, 12 of which were working as an Intelligence Analyst. I had to be dedicated and detail-oriented using information from a number of sources in order to identify and mitigate risks, thus enhancing prison safety. I created monthly reports for internal and external parties and worked alongside both local and national Police and other agencies such as PREVENT.During the latter parts of my time at the prison I decided I wanted to go into the world of IT as I enjoy the problem solving aspect of it, and so I started an Open University course and took the programming route.I landed at a role at my local council as an IT Trainee - working alongside the service desk and being mentored by the senior technicians, this helped me gain the current role of Junior System Engineer.I enjoy learning the development side of things and decided to learn Android application programming, I initially started with Java but then moved to using Flutter (Dart) and managed to finish a few projects.
