As a qualified quantity surveyor, I have always relied on my technical training to translate anarchitectural drawing into its most simplified form, which is a bill of quantities. This has served as the foundation for a technical and solutions design career that has spanned more than two decades. I have used and honed that skill throughout my career to take the abstract and conceptual and translate it into elements that can be easily understood by those delivering and implementing. Translating concepts into full delivery is supported by the ability to identify and secure the correct partners and stakeholders to establish fit-for-purpose teams.My conceptual design translation skills are complimented by my programme and projectmanagement skills. These skills, coupled with the pursuit of innovation (which in some instancesis driven by technology), a personal focus on social and economic empowerment and thedelivery of sustainable change, has allowed me to find a firm footing in the Ecosystem, design, development and management environment. My understanding of how ICT can be used as an enabler for how businesses perform their work better as well as how the clients engage with them means that solutions will incorporate how best to automate and digitise for success.
